Willowdean (Danielle Macdonald) is the plus-size teenage daughter of a former beauty queen, Rosie (Jennifer Aniston). Nicknamed "Dumplin'" by her mother, and often faced with confusion when people find out who her mother is, Will is not a fan of the pageant season and its overemphasis on beauty. As a protest, Will signs up for her mom's Miss Teen Bluebonnet pageant. Things escalate when other contestants follow her footsteps, revolutionizing the pageant and their small Texas town.
