Pattikattu Raja (1975)

Spiced with modern cinematic elements, this social drama follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Anna Sami, a bold and honest man. Having been brought up in a quaint village, he is ignorant of the ways of the city, but decides to go there on a mission. His mission is to gain the approval of the educated young woman chosen by his mother to be his bride. Without a clue as to how to find her in a metro city like Chennai, he sets forth, but finds himself embroiled in a dangerous web of deceit. The twist in the tale comes when a criminal, who looks identical to Anna Sami cleverly uses their physical similarity to trap Anna Sami for all his crimes, and switch identities with him. How will the innocent Anna Sami and his family deal with these shocking sequence of events? Will he just have to languish in prison for another's crimes?
