Trivia:
Interestingly, while some scenes were shot on a boat about fifteen kilometres from the harbour, in Chennai. However, for the safety of the lead actors, a lavish set was erected at the Vauhini Studios, Chennai, where Shaam and Meera Jasmine danced to the beat of a song.

Vidya Balan, the original choice for lead actress, was replaced by Meera Jasmine in this movie.

This movie is directed by debutant Deepak who had gained vital experience when he assisted editors Lenin-Vijayan, and director A.R. Gandhikrishna.
