Wesley, a deaf 10-year-old boy from North Dakota commutes to the school for deaf children. He is bullied at school and at home by his father. One day he comes across an injured man and decides to help him recover eventually befriending him. This new friend teaches him to stand up to his bullies and his father. The police come looking for this man leaving Wesley in a conflict and struggle to stay loyal.
