Man's first step on the moon nearly stumbled on earth
From the creators of "The Castle"
As Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, our only link was a satellite dish in rural Australia with a few bugs (And a few hundred sheep).
Based on the true story of what we didn't see.Houston's other problem.
Houston's other problem.
Trivia:
In real life, Neil 'Fox' Mason - the character represented by Russ 'Mitch' Mitchell in the movie - never got to see the moonwalk pictures live, since he was too busy keeping the windswept dish pointed at the moon.

The movie is set in the town of Parkes, in New South Wales, Aus., but was actually filmed in Forbes, which is a neighboring town a few miles down the road. This is because Parkes has changed over the last 30 years, but Forbes still looked like a 1960s town.

Parkes technicians actually do sometimes take rides on the moving dish, as Cliff explains in the film.
