User Reviews for Shaun the Sheep

A warm lil film which spells cool with a "C"
on

Directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzak sure know the pulse of the audiences and more so the family audiences..which is easily why their latest "Shaun-The sheep movie" draws you in.A very simple plot, this Brit stop motion comedy inspired by the television series is quite a refreshing delight. We are not talking eye popping technology here but good old simple story line with lil' imaginative and rather intelligent references which will endear itself to kids and adults alike.
The story about a group of sheep planning to have a day off form their monotonous routines by locking up their farmer chief in a caravan like cabin on wheels and then the unexpected misadventure that ensues is what the film is all about. The techniques employed by the bunch of bumbling sheep to retrieve their owner in the big city who seems to be having temporary amnesia are quite a riot. The characters of Shaun and his sheep gang, the faithful yellow doggie of the farmer, the stray dog whom Shaun befriends in the big city and the notorious animal/stray confinement officer are etched well.At a leisurely paced 85 minutes and with bare minimal use of dialogue, the film is a sheer delight for its simplicity and morals it preaches/showcases.
