Shanghai Blues (1984)

Amid the chaos of the 1937 Shanghai bombing, a soldier and a woman cross paths beneath a bridge and vow to reunite after the war. A decade later, she has become a singer who lends her support to a rural girl. Unbeknownst to her, the girl falls for her upstairs neighbor — the very soldier she once promised to find.
