Spiced with quirky comedy, this unconventional family drama follows the twists and turns in the life of Unni, a simple man who lives with his parents in their ancestral home. He has an elder brother, Ramakrishnan who is a doctor living in the city with his wife.
Devaki (Unni's mother) wants to have a grandchild and she is concerned as Ramakrishnan has been married a few years without children. In her desire to become a grandmother she visits many temples and holy functions to pray for a grandchild. But in a twist of fate an amorous relation between Devaki and her husband Easwara Pillai results in her becoming pregnant.
The elderly couple are initially ashamed of the pregnancy, but are assuaged and relieved after their adult children welcome it with warmth and understanding. However, when Devaki passes away due to complications during delivery, Unni is forced to shoulder the responsibility of becoming the child's caregiver
The crux of this poignant tale delves into the extraordinary and close bond that develops between Unni and his younger sister, Meenakshi who just happens to be about three decades younger than him, and the complications that emerge as she grows up.
