The youngest daughter, Rajni is loved and petted by one and all. The family lead a happy and contented life. In a cruel twist of fate, Aravindan is diagnosed with lung cancer and is deeply traumatised, because he is aware of his responsibility of ensuring the welfare of three daughters. Without revealing the true seriousness of his condition, Aravindan leaves for Mumbai, on promotion. While the family desperately misses him, Rajni becomes friendly with a neighbour, Dr Surendran, who is a kind doctor. Taking into account Rajni's condition Aravindan takes a promise from Janu not to reveal the truth about his passing to the children. What further complications will Janu have to face in life?
