Embedded with charged emotion and family sentiments, this offbeat romantic drama delves into the ups and downs in the life of Puramanayil Chandran (Mohanlal), the eldest son of an impoverished family. When his father passes away leaving behind large debts, he is forced to leave the country for work in order to repay their debts.
Many years later, his mother Lakshmi (Kaviyoor Ponnamma), persuades him to return without revealing her wish to see him married and settled down in life. Upon his return, Chandran finds himself depressed by the fact that no suitable bride is available. This is until he meets his old flame, Indira (Shobhana) who is now the single mother of a 10-year-old girl Malu (Sanusha). Will things work out between Chandran and Indira this time around? Can Chandran succeed in winning the hearts of everyone involved, and convince Lakshmi to accept his choice?
