Kuyiline Thedi (1983)

Embedded with youthful romance and quirky comedy, this evocative relationship drama traces the twists and turns in the life of Shyam, a sweet young man, who has a fight with his family and runs away from home. In the new town, he is welcomed warmly, but soon finds out that the place is tyrannically ruled by one man, Thamburankutty. Shyam becomes fond at first sight of a beautiful young woman he calls Kuyil, but she is not very impressed with him. Will Shyam succeed in winning over Kuyil's heart? When the powerful and wealthy Thamburankutty, who is already married, expresses his wish to marry Kuyil, her family has no choice but to accept. What will happen to the love story between Shyam and Kuyil? Will they succeed in uniting against all odds? Will somebody come forward to stop the abuse, exploitation and violence of Thamburankutty and free the community from his tyranny?
