Neelkanth Chaturvedi, 55 years old who is soft-hearted and is about to retire in 2 years from the post of Constable from Bilaspur Central Jail. He has a small family, wife Jyoti and daughter Anu who is his life. He serves food and is the caretaker of the most dangerous prisoners of that Jail. His daughter wedding date has been fixed and he is all out to bid her farewell most lovingly, taking care of her smallest whims and fancies. She requests him to take her to the town fare as she could freely roam around and purchase what she wanted at least once before getting married. But a Naxalite group attacks the village fare which takes the girl's life in the hustle. The tragic incident leaves them hopeless.
