Trivia:
Since this movie had an extremely strong Bengali connection into it, even with its characters deeply seeped into the Bengali culture of that time, Yash Raj Films (YRF) decided that it will be their first ever movie to be released in Bengali.

In this movie, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a cabaret dancer whose look and performance was influenced by the English cabaret which was popular in Calcutta in the 1970s.

Actor Ranveer Singh injured himself while shooting a scene, he was seen falling from a dangerous height and was rushed to the nearest hospital.

For this movie, both the lead actors Arjun and Ranveer underwent a lot of physical training to look lean and mean as per the edicts of the role.

Both the lead role actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor has debuted under the YRF banner in 'Band Baaja Baaraat' and 'Ishaqzaade' respectively.

Both the lead actors are depicted as Bengalis according to the script of the movie.

The shooting of the movie was primarily shot in Kolkata and some parts at Durgapur, while the indoor shoot was held in Yash Raj Studios at Mumbai.
