The story of a lifetime.
The world will never be the same once you've seen it through the eyes of Forrest Gump.
Life is like a box of never know what you're gonna get.
Rather than being paid for this film, Tom Hanks took percentage points which ultimately netted him in the region of $40 million.

When learning to play ping-pong in the infirmary, Forrest is told the trick is to "keep his eye on the ball" by another soldier. After that moment, whenever he is shown playing ping-pong, he never blinks.

At the Vietnam rally in Washington, the microphone plug is pulled and you cannot hear Forrest talking. According to Tom Hanks, he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

The line, "My name is Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump," was improvised by Tom Hanks.

There was no ball during the ping-pong matches. Tt was entirely CGI, animated to meet the actors' paddles.

This film won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Hanks, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing.

This film was nominated for seven Golden Globe Awards, winning three of them: Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, Best Director – Motion Picture, and Best Motion Picture – Drama.
