Shri. Bapu Padmanabha is one of the rare Musicians who have been selected to represent India as Cultural Ambassador. The Ministry of External Affairs Government of India has released a Music C.D. entitled Music as Therapy by Bapu Padmanabha of Harihar, Karnataka State, and it has been released in order to acquaint Indian Classical Music to foreign cultural delegates. Bapu Padmanabha who has been raised to the zenith of popularity as a flutist, has received higher training in flute, under the able guidance of Bansuri Samrat Padmavibhushana Pandit HARIPRASAD CHAURASIA. This extra-ordinary expert born in an ordinary remote place Harihara in Karnataka, as student of Tool Engineering in Hospet, started practicing flute and went ahead in the ladder of musical achievement. He began his journey of learning music at the age of 16, having acquaintance of music that he learnt from his grandfather who was a harmonium player. At the age of 18, Bapu had realised that his vocation lied in music. He commenced his learning of music in distant presence of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. His learning like ‘ Ekalavya’ of Mahabharata, has been continuous and constant. He began to imitate Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia’s style of presentation. Bapu has synchronized music compositions for many kannada films as well. Working as Music Composer for Allama directed by T.S.Nagabharana.He has worked fruitfully with famous singers like Hariharan,Shankar Mahadevan and Shan. Bapu has his own unique music band known as Aanthardhwani.
