Set in the 1980s', when many states in the country were experiencing heavy rains and flooding, this evocative drama revolves around Chitra (Lakshmi Manchu) who has just become a bride. In the district of Rajamundhry on the banks of the Godavari, the villagers have organised grand feast for the marriage of Malli (Aadhi), a happy-go-lucky fisherman and Chitra. While everyone including the priest is happy, Malli and Chitra look a bit uncomfortable when the mangalsutraI is tied.
Before they can embark upon their marital relationship, the couple must first come to terms with each other's past relationships.
