Welcome to the new front line
The commander is in England. The drone pilot is in America. The terrorist is in Kenya. And the authority to strike is up in the air.
Filming Locations:
Factual Mistake
In an early scene, Second Lieutenant Steve Watts (Aaron Paul) tells Carrie Gershon (Phoebe Fox) that he's been a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) pilot for two years. Second Lieutenant is the lowest entry level rank for U.S. Air Force (USAF) pilots, so unless he was passed over for promotion, this is extremely unlikely given that USAF Second Lieutenants only spend 18 months in that rank before being promoted to First Lieutenant
Alia Mom Fatima and Mussa respectively acting Arman haghio and Fihana

Oliver Hirschbiegel and Tarsem Singh were previously attached to direct

Helen Mirren's role was originally written for a male actor

Due to budgetary restrictions during the six-week shoot, actors often worked individually. For example, when Helen Mirren is in the decision room, she was actually speaking in real time to the film's director, Gavin Hood, and facing a green screen with a red 'X' designating her line of focus

According to director Gavin Hood, 30% of U.S. military drone operators are treated for post-traumatic stress disorder

When asked at a screening of Eye in the Sky about working with Alan Rickman in the actor's final film role, Hood revealed that Rickman stayed on set for three or four days after shooting wrapped to attend the wrap party and individually thank the film crew for its dedication

Final live-action film role of Alan Rickman

This movie marks the acting debut of Miss Hong Kong pageant winner, Kate Tsui.

The title of this movie is said to be derived from the casino surveillance technology "eye in the sky".

It marks the directorial debut of Yau Nai-Hoi, a long-time screenwriter for films directed by Johnnie To, who co-produced this movie with his production company, Milkyway Image.

This movie premiered as an Official Selection at the 2007 Berlin International Film Festival, and as an Opening Film at the Hong Kong International Film Festival
