A man who lives life on the edge, Don is constantly expanding the size of his empire while evading arrest or death at the hands of his enemies, both within and outside the law. He is unstoppable in his pursuit of absolute power. His chief pursuer is an Indian police officer, Desilva. He is a man who has sworn to put an end to this nexus of evil and knows that in capturing Don lies the key to unlock this puzzle. And one day he succeeds. Don is captured and Desilva puts his plan into action. Unknown to even his own department, Pesilva has recruited and trained a man who is a spitting image of Don. His name is Vijay. But in a bizarre twist of fate, Desilva is killed during a raid and the secret that Don is in fact Vijay, a police informer, is buried within him. Vijay manages to escape and is now on the lookout for the one last piece of evidence that can get him out of this mess. Helping him on the quest are two people. The first is a Roma, a young woman who was working in the gang, but only to avenge her brother's death. He had been mercilessly killed by Don when he had decided join the gang. Goofs:
Factual Mistake

Factual Mistake
In the climax fight sequence it is clearly visible that Don's revolver is not loaded. Also, while Don's revolver chambers are facing towards Vardhan and it is very surprising that such an intelligent criminal does not recognize that his opponent is holding an empty gun at him.

Factual Mistake
In the scene after the horse race, Roma shoots two policemen. While she shoots the policeman she is in the back seat of the car. But in the next shot, when the car is being driven away, it can clearly noticed that there is no one in the back seat.

Factual Mistake
In one of the scenes, Don throws his suitcase towards Jayraj just as there is a blast, and both of them are suddenly engulfed in flames. In the very next shot Don's car emerges from the flames from the same blast. It would have been impossible for Don to throw the bag, get in the car and drive his car through the flames from the blast within such a short time.

Factual Mistake
When Roma rescues Don by lifting an ambulance by a crane, the ambulance's windscreen changes appearance while being lifted up and while being driven away.

Continuity
During the fight sequence of the climax scene, Don and Vardhan fall down at the same. When they fall down Don is wearing his jacket. However when both of them get up at the same time Don is no longer wearing his jacket. Don would have had no time to remove his jacket while Vardhan was attacking him furiously with a knife.

Continuity
When Jasjit and Deepu are crossing the Skybridge on Petronas Towers, Deepu's T-shirt has different colors in close up and distant shots.

Continuity
During the fight sequence, inside an old train, Roma's shoes change from high heel to flat heel. Her shoes change again to high heel at the end of the fight.

Continuity
During the opening fight sequence an African man dies and falls on the floor. His dead body changes position between shots.

Continuity
In the introductory scene when Don hits a golf ball his hair is messed up, but when he turns to Narang his hair is perfectly done.

Continuity
Arjun's friend tells him that the disc is very important and has important matter but then SRK says it never had anything.
Trivia:
Don is wearing a Tag Heuer watch in the entire movie. Despite all the action sequences, traveling and even death, the watch remains safe and intact on the Don's wrist.

In the final scene, Don says that he become baadshah of the underworld and that he is the king. Shah Rukh Khan, who plays Don in the film, is often referred to as the "baadshah" of the Hindi film industry, and also as King Khan.

In the song "Morya Re," Shah Rukh Khan is singing a deeply religious song to the god Ganesh Chaturti in the Ganesh festival, participated in by Hindus. Ironically enough, Shah Rukh Khan is Muslim.

During a shoot, Shah Rukh Khan's wedding ring slipped off his finger. Khan had everyone on the sets searching for it, with the implausible excuse that if they didn't find it, he would have to get married again in order to get himself a new wedding ring. Needless to say, they found it in double quick time.

Yana Gupta was considered for the role of Kamini.

Hrithik Roshan was considered for the title role, but upon completing the script, Farhan Akhtar he realized that a more mature actor was needed and thus Shah Rukh Khan took the role.
