Where did you watch this movie?

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, 'American Hustle' tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that's as dangerous as it is enchanting. Jeremy Renner is Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving's unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down. Like David O. Russell's previous films, 'American Hustle' defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.

Factual Mistake
The scene at Teterboro Airport shows a tri-jet Dassault business jet. The first version of that plane was the Falcon 50, which wasn't certified until 1979. The movie takes place in 1978.

Factual Mistake
They mention that the mayor adopted one of his children from the Boys and Girls of America, but the organization was only known as the Boys Club of America until they changed their name in 1990.

Factual Mistake
In the scene at the airport when the jet arrives, a Diamond Da-40 is seen in the background. This aircraft was not made until the early 90's, a decade after the scene takes place.

Factual Mistake
In the scene where Irving goes to one of his dry cleaning locations and retrieves a gun and some money out of his safe, the money seen is quite obviously a more recent looking print with the spacing and look of a "large faced" bill, as opposed to money from that era with small faces on the bills.
Trivia:
The infant, Jeremy Renner kisses on the hands when he's Mayor, is actually his newborn daughter.

The characterisation of Irving Rosenfeld, a conman played by Christian bale' is based on a real con man named Mel Weinberg, who the FBI recruited to teach them. His look seemed so authentic and unexpected with this comb over and paunch that they decided to aim for that very look!

Actor Christian Bale, who has fulfilled several roles that required immense physical transformation, plays a man with a gut ( he gained 40 lbs for his role) and balding scalp, but tons of smarts and an endless supply of charisma that serves him well, in this intriguing movie.

Christian Bale was cast in the lead role but he dropped out and was replaced by Bradley Cooper. He later joined the project again in the same role.

The script was originally titled "American Bullshit" and came in eighth place on Hollywood's 2010 Black List, which ranks unproduced screenplays.

American Hustle reunites the following actors who have collaborated with David O. Russell before: Christian Bale and Amy Adams for The Fighter; Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert De Niro for Silver Linings Playbook.

Christian Bale achieved the physical traits of his character by gaining weight, getting a comb-over and slouching his posture.

David O. Russell wrote the part of Rosalyn Rosenfeld specifically for Jennifer Lawrence to play her.

Director Ben Affleck was originally considered to direct but he dropped out to direct an adaptation of Stephen King's "The Stand".

Filming of this movie was delayed after the terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon. Bradley Cooper went to different hospitals in the greater Boston area to visit with victims of the attack.

Production in Boston was shut down on April 19th 2013, when the city was in lock-down during the manhunt for one of the suspected Boston Marathon bombers.
