Trivia:
The film was the first Indian movie to be mixed in Auro 3D, a 11.1 surround sound format.

The film was highly controversial, with several Muslim civic organizations protesting its release in Tamil Nadu, resulting in an official ban being imposed on the film in the state for 15 days by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Despite its fragmented release, the film garnered positive reviews and was the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all time at the time of its release.

The character of Wisam is a reference to Arjuna in Mahabarata, when he takes the guise of a eunuch and teaches dance and song to the girls in the court of king Virata.

Although DVDs were freely available in the market prior to the film's release in Tamil Nadu, people preferred to watch the movie at theaters.
