Directed, written and produced by Sofia Coppola, it features an ensemble cast: Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Emma Watson, Claire Julien, Taissa Farmiga, Leslie Mann. This contemporary movie is based on "The Suspects Wore Louboutins" by Nancy Jo Sales and delves into the perverse mindset of celebrity-crazy youngsters brought up in the Paparazzi infested reality TV generation. It revolves around a clique of fashion-obsessed teenagers, Rebecca (the ringleader), Marc, Nicki, Sam and Chloe, known as The Bling Ring, who use the Internet's social media websites and mapping technology to track their favorite celebrities in order to safely burglarize their homes. In reality, the group stole more than $3 million dollars worth of high-end possessions from designer labels like Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Cartier and Tiffany before getting caught by the authorities. Paris Hilton, who was a victim during the actual Bling Ring robberies not only allowed cameras to film in her own home, but has also played a cameo in the movie along with other celebrities.

First movie starring Emma Watson not based on a book.

Based on Nancy Jo Sales' Vanity Fair article, "The Suspects Wore Louboutins."

Emma Watson's wallet was stolen while filming.

Emma Watson said she researched her role by watching "a ton of reality TV" including The Hills and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She also listened to Britney Spears' Femme Fatale album to get into the mind-frame of her character.

This is the last movie to be shot by cinematographer Harris Savides, who passed away in October 2012.

Prior to shooting, Sofia Coppola got the cast to fake-burgle a house to see what mistakes they'd make.

It is said by insiders that Emma Watson watched her character, Alexis Neiers's reality television show, Pretty Wild to study her body language and how she acted around people.
