This socially relevant drama incisively probes into the flaws of the reigning political system and the rampant corruption in politics, through the life of Divakaran (Jayaram), son of martyr Karunakaran, who is well accepted in his village. He takes part in an election and becomes an MLA under the panel of the Communist party.
MLA Divakaran is shocked to find corruption and unethical practice rampant in the political party. He voices his disdain and firmly opposers a move to stage strikes involving students. He begins to protest against the party's misdeeds provoking the wrath and ire of the party's leadership. Will Divakaran become an outcast in his own party? Will he succeed in overcoming the dangers of speaking up against powerful people?
