Trivia:
Actor Shatrughan Sinha made a cameo appearance in this movie as Public Prosecutor.

The sequence of Kumar's use of various modes of transportation was an inspiration for the Bollywood film Johnny Gaddaar (2007), where it is shown that the film's protagonist watches this film and does the same to avoid suspicion.

This is the first movie in which future superstar Amitabh Bachchan played a villain. He did not play another until 31 years later in Aankhen (2002).

Amitabh Bachchan was living with Editor Neerja Shah and her family, he would practice all his lines at their home for the film. Amitabh would get Neerja Shah and her sisters for role play for his lines and get them ready for the lines of the scene, they would all end up giggling away, as acting wasn't acceptable in the norm society.
