Liberally spiced with modern cinematic elements, this evocative family-oriented drama delves into the ups and downs in the life of Chidambaram, a sincere young man. After completing his bachelor's degree, he accepts work is the teacher in the panchayat school of Eshwarankottai, a small village, for a small salary, due to his financial pressure. Chidambaram also accepts to be the watchman of the bungalow owned by the school.
However, when he reaches the village, he finds the locals too terrified to even talk to him. Then, he is told that the bungalow has been haunted for more than 70 years and that there have been as many as 19 mysterious deaths of people who have spent a night in the bungalow.
Despite his fears Chidambaram is forced to stay in the bungalow as he has signed a legally binding contract to live there for a minimum of six months. Is the bungalow really haunted? Is his life truly in danger?
As he begins living in the village and teaching in the school, he also falls in love with Sivagami, a vivacious young woman. Will Chidambaram and Sivagami get married? Will they have a happy life together?
