The inspiring true story of the world's worst singer.
Goofs:
Factual Mistake
Cole Porter walks into Carnegie Hall unassisted but in reality he was crippled after a horseback riding accident in 1937.

Continuity
After a weekend of golf, St. Clair and Kathleen are in a restaurant. St. Clair holds a cigarette in his left hand. The cigarette moves from his lap to close to his face, and back to his lap.

Factual Mistake
While the film is set in the fall of 1944, a taxi cab is clearly shown to have a 1942 New York license plate.

Factual Mistake
A few scenes in alleyways include nightclub posters. At least one refers to BeBop, which was still experimental during the war years.

Factual Mistake
In several scenes, a 1949 Packard is parked on the street but due to wartime production stoppages, the newest cars in 1944 were 1942 models

Factual Mistake
The grand piano shown during the final recital in Carnegie Hall is a Model D Steinway piano which has a modern Steinway & Sons logo, of which the first version wasn't introduced until late 1950s
Trivia:
The 2015 French feature film 'Marguerite', directed by Xavier Giannoli starring Catherine Frot in the lead role, was actually inspired by Jenkins's life and career.

David Bowie had treasured Florence Foster Jenkins' original recording in his record collection.

Costume designer Consolata Boyle had to add a few pounds of padding to layer Streep's slight frame in order to recreate Jenkins' more matronly look.

The original Jenkins had created all her own outfits, inspired by the style of "a Mexican señorita" and the 18th-century ball gowns.

Meryl Streep sings in her original voice and Simon Helberg plays the piano originally

Hugh Grant had already planned to retire when director Stephen Frears approached him and convinced him to star in the film
