Carmen is a graduate of American Academy for the Dramatic Arts New York. Carmen Peláez has performed her solo play Rum & Coke to raves in LA, Chicago, Miami and Off-Broadway at Abingdon Theater. She has written essays for Marie Claire, Huffington Post and the New York Times. In 2012, she won the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival Short Film Competition with The Acting Lesson, which she co-directed, and completed her second play FAKE. Carmen is developing a short film series based on her one-act plays Loteria and a bilingual television pilot.
