Trivia:
During the showreel of The Weinstein Company's upcoming slate of films at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, producer Harvey Weinstein told journalists that he was so enamored of Alicia Vikander that he asked her to play a part in this film (her part didn't exist in the script). Weinstein also stated that Vikander will have a brilliant future in Hollywood's biggest league. Vikander had previously starred in another Weinstein Company film, Tulip Fever.

Jamie Dornan had a 2-minute cameo in the movie that didn't make it to the final cut, it was part of Sienna Miller's character's backstory. The scene was disapproved by the audience in test screenings and was removed from the movie.

Was going to be titled "Chef", but Jon Favreau had already used the title for his film. Before the Weinstein Company bought the rights for "Adam Jones", it was a Sony Pictures project and the company served Favreau's production with a cease-and-desist over the title "Chef", Sony cleared the titles "Chef" and "The Chef" with the MPAA and requested Aldamisa (which controlled Favreau's film) to change the title of their film on threat of legal action. Favreau's film ended up with the title "Chef" and was released in 2014, while Sony/The Weinstein Company's "Chef" changed its title to "Adam Jones" in 2014. In July 2015, it was retitled "Burnt" and will be released in October 2015.

Bradley Cooper played a similar character, also a Chef, 10 years before, in the TV series Kitchen Confidential (2005).

Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller previously co-starred together in American Sniper (2014). They started shooting this movie a few months after wrapping American Sniper.

Bradley Cooper at age of 8, wanted to be either an Actor or a Chef, in this movie Cooper plays a Chef.

Michelle Williams and Marion Cotillard were considered for the lead female role that went to Sienna Miller.

David Fincher was originally helmed to direct this in 2008, with Keanu Reeves attached to star. Fincher left the project in 2010.

The script was featured on the 2007 Black List, the list of the most liked unproduced scripts.

Derek Cianfrance was attached to direct the film in 2013, but dropped out and was replaced by John Wells.
