Trivia:
One of the famous scenes from this movie, the 'hotel comedy' sequence was later re-used by Priyadarshan in Hindi movie Garam Masala (2005), which incidentally was a remake of another Malayalam movie 'Boeing Boeing'.

The movie borrows plot elements from Basu Chatterjee's comedy Pasand Apni Apni (1983), which itself was based on the British movie Happy Go Lovely (1951) {Narayanan Kutty's story}, and Hrishikesh Mukherjee's comedy Naram Garam (1981), {Balan's story}.

This movie was tremendously successful at the box office.
