This is the only film in which Aamir Khan and Rajnikanth have been seen together.

"Aatank Hi Aatank" (1995) was produced by director Dilip Shankar’s wife, Mangal and was initially named "Aatank".

Aamir Khan is known for his honesty and professionalism. Once, director Dilip Shankar had requested Aamir to come in for a 7 am shift. Unfortunately, by the time Aamir reached the sets, it was well past 9 am. Dilip Shankar expected Aamir to throw star-like tantrums, when asked for the reason of delay, but Dilip was surprised, when Aamir apologized profusely, saying he had overslept.

The movie was dubbed in Tamil as "Aandavan" (2000) and flopped just like its Hindi version at the box-office.

The movie was initially announced with Sunny Deol and Rajinikanth in the lead roles.

The movie was delayed well over 3 years due to financial issues.
