Trivia:
Guillermo del Toro will voice a new antagonist in this movie.

The movie was previously set to release on June 29, 2018, then it took The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part's release date and was moved to May 18, 2018. Then the movie was set to release on March 1, 2019 due to Universal acquiring DreamWorks. And finally, the movie was moved up a week to release on February 22, 2019.

T.J. Miller is replaced by Justin Rupple as the voice of Tuffnut Thorston after T.J.'s destructive behavior made headlines in mid-2018.

When Hiccup is making Toothless a tail that will allow him to fly on his own, Astrid says "you tried that once before; he didn't want it." This refers to the Dragons holiday special, 'Gift of the Night Fury.'

This is DreamWorks Animations longest film with a running time of 104 minutes.

It is the first DreamWorks Animation film to be distributed by Universal Pictures.

This marks the first DreamWorks Animation film to feature DreamWorks logo with "A Comcast Company".

The first trailer of this film was released on June 7th 2018, the 48th birthday of director and writer Dean DeBlois.

This will be the first time in the franchise that Tuffnut Thorston is voiced by somebody other than T.J. Miller.

Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are the only actors to reprise their roles in both movies and TV series.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is the first Universal's animated film to have a PG rating in the UK.

This is shipped to theatres under the title 'Royal Flush'.
