Rajini is working as a coolie in a factory. He is asked by three brothers (Nizhalgal Ravi, Radharavi, S. S. Chandran) to act as a foreign returned rich man the heir of a property.Rajini acts but always escapes as he doesn't want to face consequences.
However, when he comes to know that he is the rightful heir to the property, and that his father was brutally and mercilessly murdered by three brothers to takeaway the property, he becomes enraged. Further, the knowledge that his mother (Sujatha) became a mental patient after witnessing the traumatic events, strengthens his desire for revenge.
He avenges the death of his father by killing the villains. In the end, he rejects all the wealth preferring a simple and honest lifestyle saying that he doesn't want to be an heir to money and always remains as a coolie.
