Where did you watch this movie?

The video is based on a freak show format suggesting how modern medical imagery has reduced the body to the state of an object. Freak shows showcased people with deformities as objects of entertainment. Today we would never admit stooping to such insensitivity, and yet we are unable to co-exist with difference and disease and segregate these from the 'normal'. This is further legitimized through the institution of modern medicine. The video also cites 'Snow White'. The idea of what it means to be beautiful is deeply embedded in culture and perpetuated through fairytale, myths, film, television and advertisements. Somewhere within this discourse that prioritizes how you look over how you feel, the individual is reduced to a 2D reflection.
