Based upon the Uttara Kanda of the Ramayana, this historical drama delves into the trials and travails in the life of Seeta. After being crowned king, Rama passes time pleasantly with Seeta. In course of time, she becomes pregnant with twin children. However, in spite of the Agni Pariksha (trial by fire) that Seeta had already endured in order to prove her purity, suspicion, rumours and gossip about the time she spent in Ravana's captivity spread like wildfire in Ayodhya. Despite Seeta's pregnancy Rama yields to public opinion and reluctantly banishes her to the forest, where the sage Valmiki provides shelter in his ashrama (hermitage). How will Seeta's life unfold?
