Rowdy Leader (2012)

'Saguni' is a thought-provoking and intricately crafted tale of one man's transformation from an ordinary citizen seeking help to save his ancestral property, to one of the most influential and powerful politicians in the state.

Kamalakannan aka Kamal (Karthi) comes to Chennai in order to save his ancestral property at Karaikudi, from being demolished due to the construction of an over bridge. Committed towards seeking help from local politicians to get an exemption from the proposed demolition, he goes from one source to another begging for mercy. An auto-rickshaw driver Rajini alias Appadurai (Santhanam), helps him in the process and eventually becomes a close friend. He also falls in love with Sridevi (Pranitha).

In the arduous journey of trying to garner support for his cause, Kamal meets and through his intelligent and uplifting suggestions, deeply impacts the lives of many. Eventually, when he comes to know that a corrupt politician is the prime player behind the plot to seize his ancestral property, he embarks on a journey into the dangerous political landscape of the state. Will he succeed in protecting his ancestral property? How will he perform in the realm of politics?
