Robert Lee Zemeckis was born on the 14th of May 1952. He is an American filmaker and screenwriter who is frequently credited as an innovator in visual effects. He debuted as a director with Romancing the Stone (1984) and the science-fiction comedy Back to the Future trilogy as well as the animated-live action comedy Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). He won an Academy Award for Best Director for Forrest Gump (1994). He has directed films in a wide variety of genres including both families and adults.
