Embedded with charged emotions and deep social relevance, this realistic tale delves into the challenges and struggles of tribal communities in India, with the help of one glaring example. Anamika (Suhasini), a young, city-bred postgraduate student has progressive ideas about the value and role of women in Indian society. She goes to the Javadi Hills, along with a group of students for a research project on tribal communities in India. During her stay, she becomes very good friends with Gangamma, one of the young tribal girls. Later, Anamika is shocked when comes to know that Gangamma was raped and murdered. With encouragement from her father, she boldly decides to investigate the crime at all costs and fight for justice. Overcoming the extremes of political persecution with the help of an honest and therefore victimised policeman, Muthuvel (Rajeev), she must battle to expose the perpetrator of the crime. When their investigations reveal that the criminal is none other than the son of a powerful politician, Anamika and Muthuvel are faced with the challenge of their lifetime, because the politician will stop at nothing to cover up his son’s crime. Will they succeed in bringing Gangamma's rapist to justice?
