Milica Bogdanovna Jovovich was born on the 17th of December 1975. She is an American actress, model, musician, and fashion designer who has appeared in numerous science fiction and action films. According to Forbes, she was the highest-paid model in the world in 2004. Her first acting role was in 1988 in the television film The Train to Kathmandu and also appeared in her first feature film, Two Moon Junction. She was only 15 when she gained attention for her role in the explicit 1991 romance film Return to the Blue Lagoon and was considered to have a breakthrough with her role in the 1997 French science-fiction film The Fifth Element. She has also starred in the 1999 film Besson's The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc as the heroine and martyr. In 2002 she starred in the science-fiction horror movie Resident Evil which received negative reviews from critics but was commercially successful and also reprised her role in all five sequels made between 2004 and 2016.
