American actor, singer, song writer and comedian Eric Morlon Bishop famously known by stage name Jamie Foxx. He has won an Academy Award for Best Actor, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, for his work in the 2004 biographical film Ray. In the same year, he was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the crime film Collateral. Born in Terrell, Texas to Darrell Bishop and Louise Annette Talley Dixon, Jamie was adopted and raised by his mother's adoptive parents, Esther Marie and nursery operator and Mark Talley. He had started playing the piano at the tender age of five and had a natural talent for telling jokes. His ambition was to play for the Dallas Cowboys, and he was the first player in the school's history to pass for more than 1,000 yards. Foxx received a scholarship to United States International University, where he studied classical music and composition. Foxx first told jokes at a comedy club's open mic night in 1989 and developed his stage name to allow himself to be associated with the female comedians of the club. He made his debut in the year 1992 in the comedy movie 'Toys'. In 2012, Foxx starred in the title role of the Quentin Tarantino written and directed 'Django Unchained' alongside his Ray co-star Kerry Washington. The following year had Foxx appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as the villain Electro. Foxx has two daughters: Corinne Bishop and Annalise, and was named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" by People Magazine in 2005. He was also awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Motion Pictures at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

Trivia:
Foxx received four Grammy Award nominations, which included Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for Love Changes featuring Mary J. Blige, Best R&B Album for Unpredictable.

At the 2006 Black Entertainment Television Awards, Foxx won Best Duet/Collaboration with Kanye West for "Gold Digger".

In 2003, Foxx featured on the rapper Twista's song, "Slow Jamz", together with Kanye West, which reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and #3 on the UK Singles chart.
