This movie is director Proshoon Rahman’s screen adaptation of his own book titled, 'Ishhorer Ichhe Nei Boley'.

Director Proshoon Rahman had previously worked with the late Tareque Masud, another Bangladeshi independent film director, producer, screenwriter and lyricist. His film, Matir Moina (The Clay Bird, 2002), became Bangladesh’s first film to compete for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
