After Lord Krishna advised the people of Brajdham to stop performing rituals of sacrifice to Lord Indra and they agreed, Lord Indra feels insulted and tries to punish them by invoking a torrential downpour, Krishna casually lifts the mountain so that all the living beings in the area could be safe under the gargantuan umbrella.
