Six-year-old Pakhi is locked up in a dark room by her father. 10 years later, Pakhi is rescued by a Dr Moitra. Having spent a decade of her life, away from any human territory, Pakhi develops severe psychological complication. Dr Moitra's son, Siddhartha, also a psychiatrist, tries the "best friend" approach to bring a traumatized Pakhi back to normalcy. Pakhi gradually starts to respond. And in no time, she is transformed into this happy 16-year-old teenager, all set to fall in love with her doctor. But Siddhartha has plans of his own — to marry his girlfriend of 10 years, Piya. Siddhartha starts concocting stories to Pakhi, saying things like, "When two friends want to stay together, they have to get married." Obviously, Pakhi answers back with, "So why are we not getting married?", to which Siddhartha says, "Only friends should get married. Kintu tui to aamar 'best' friend".
Enter Kaustav, Piya's brother, who acts as the apple of knowledge for Pakhi, initiating her to all about dil-dosti-pyaar. Pakhi wakes up to the fact that Siddhartha has chosen Piya over her.
