This will be the fifth screen adaptation of Lew Wallace's novel. The first was Ben-Hur (1907), the second was Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (1925), third one and the most acclaimed one was Ben-Hur (1959), and the fourth was the animated Direct-to-DVD Ben-Hur (2003).
