Factual Mistake
The "grandmother" tells Soham that Kabir was an orphan found on the banks of Ganges river. In reality, Kabir was found by a water-well in Lahartara, a suburb of Varanasi.
Trivia:
On 2 March 2006, a five-hour long puja (prayer) was performed for the success of the film. Early in the movie, Babaji changes Soham's name from Sohan (a fairly common name that means "handsome") to Soham. Soham has been called the universal mantra, and translates "I am that". Babaji later teaches Soham from the Upanishads about "Tat tvam asi" ("Thou art that") a major principle of Vedantic Hinduism.
