'Ashok' is an emotionally-charged drama that primarily revolves around the relationship between father and son; the father is a pacifist, and the son is an expert in the use of violence to find solutions to problems. The crux of the story is the struggle between these two paths in life. Ashok (NTR), an auto-mobile mechanic is thrown out of the house due to his violent and rowdy behaviour which leads to the death of his grandmother (Ramaprabha). Unable to bring reason into his son's life and lead him in the path of peace and prosperity, his father (Prakash Raj) has no other choice but to throw him out of the house in the hopes that he would learn his lesson, and mend his ways. The heroine (Sameera Reddy) is a neighbour and Ashok falls in love with her. In a dramatic twist of fate, the Villain(Sonu Sood) also sees the heroine and he falls obsessively in love with her. While saving the heroine from the clutches of villain, Ashok's friend (Rajeev Kanakala) is killed by the villain gang. This angers the hero who is sent off to Delhi according to a plan laid by villain, villain's mother (Vadipukarassi) and hero's father and he rushes back to Hyderabad to save his family and the heroine. Despite his wish to live by his father's edict and not resort to violence for any reason, Ashok is forced to fight for the sake of his family, friends and love. Will he succeed in defeating the blood-thirsty mobster?
