Indian film actress Aditi Rao Hydari is known for her works in Hindi and Tamil cinema. Born in the family of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and J. Rameshwar Rao in Hyderabad, Aditi has Mangalorean Konkani roots and is the great granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the grand niece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam. Aditi started learning Bharatanatyam at age six and became a disciple of acclaimed dancer Leela Samson, and she did her schooling at Rishi Valley School, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Hydari made her acting debut with the 2007 Tamil film Sringaram, in which she played the lead character, as a devadasi, and received critical acclaim and fetched several accolades, including three National Film Awards. She initially starred in a supporting role in Hindi movies 'Delhi-6' and 'Yeh Saali Zindagi'. In 2012 she landed her major role as the female lead in the movie 'London, Paris, New York' opposite Ali Zafar, after which she became a part of Mahesh Bhatt's Murder franchise. In 2016, Hydari starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar in Bejoy Nambiar's crime thriller film Wazir, and starred as the younger Miss Havisham in 'Fitoor' for which she received wide recognition for her performance. She has also starred in the bilingual romantic thriller film 'Kaatru Veliyidai', directed by Mani Ratnam.
